Trainee Vinyl Applicator

We are looking for a trainee Vinyl applicator to join our well established client based in Normanton, although this is classed as a trainee position, you must have some experience working within a busy manufacturing/engineering environment.

As part of our Vinyl Department, you’ll be learning from experienced professionals, developing specialist knowledge, and contributing to projects you’ll see displayed across the UK every day. Now, we’re searching for the next generation of signmakers to join our team and carry that tradition forward.

What you’ll learn

• How to prepare, weed, mask, and plot vinyl graphics to a professional standard.
• How to read digital job instructions and deliver quality work on time.
• How to work as part of a team to meet deadlines and produce top-quality results.
• Techniques for applying cut vinyl and printed graphics onto aluminium, acrylic, ACM, flat-cut letters, fascia signage, and 3D pictorials.
• Correct methods for preparing and cleaning surfaces before vinyl application.
• The importance of maintaining a safe, clean, and organised workspace.
• The use of tools and equipment including plotters, laminators, and cutting tools.
• Progression towards a nationally recognised NVQ in Signmaking alongside your training.

Training & NVQ in Signmaking

Once you’ve settled into the role and shown commitment, we will arrange for you to work towards an NVQ in Signmaking. This means that alongside your hands-on training in our workshop, you’ll also gain access to structured, classroom-based learning.

The NVQ programme covers the theoretical side of signmaking, giving you a comprehensive understanding of the trade to complement your practical skills.
